Many of us are called by the mysterious to understand humanity. Ly de Angeles is repulsed by rigidity and pretence; she does not understand either bigotry or racism. Her curiosity about being human has been lifelong, evolving into an understanding of our deep ecological immersion with all life—and the sobering realization that this is not necessarily the destiny of Earth. Her diverse lifework spans all aspects of film and theatre, as well as advice on health and history. Her main talent, in the long run, however, is divination; the autonomy of tarot.
SOVEREIGNTY
Purchased as a child for 300 pound, by strangers, de Angeles did not gain legitimised freedom until a landmark ruling in the NSW Supreme Court in 2020. Having lived with Stockholm Syndrome until it was safe to drop the pretence, her survival and subsequent work are defined by an absolute return to personal sovereignty.
TAROT & TEACHING
Her life is focussed on two distinct linguistic forces: the language that chose her. Represented as a consistent upskilling, the systematic reflection on, and correction of, a language imposed by a coloniser and capitalist bureaucracy—a system engineered for short-term gain at the imposition of exploitation, she teaches others to question, to speak and think in a clear unpolluted way despite a mongrel English language and an imposed religiosity and morality, for decades.
She teaches the interpretation of TAROT through clear, unfettered communication. Without religion, without classifications, without labels and without any reference to a biased consciousness or hierarchical status.
